Timelines:

Abstracts Due: Friday, March 26, 2010
Notification of Abstract acceptance: Saturday, May 15, 2010

Session Themes:

Abstracts for presentations or posters can be submitted in one of the following eleven session themes. Papers on other topics in remote sensing related to hydrology may be submitted. If enough interest is shown for a particular topic, a special session will be organized. Abstracts are invited which should contain sufficient detail to enable the committee to judge the merit of the paper based on its technical quality and relevance to the general theme of the symposium.

  • Remote sensing of: precipitation; evapotranspiration; soil moisture and groundwater;
  • Snow and ice; wetlands and riparian zones
  • Hydrological modeling and forecasting using remote sensing data
  • Operational hydrological applications of remote sensing data
  • The role and importance of large-scale experiments in hydrological understanding
  • New airborne and satellite sensors for hydrological monitoring and modeling
  • Passive Microwave and Radar applications in hydrology
  • Remote Sensing and Un-gauged Basins
  • Evapotranspiration of Agricultural Crops and Irrigation Water Demand
  • Watershed land cover and estimation of model parameter inputs
  • Energy Balance Estimations

Please submit abstracts of 300-400 words before 26th of March 2010 and indicate with the abstract submission whether oral or poster presentation is preferred. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 15 May, 2010. The symposium papers will be published in the symposium proceedings as an IAHS "Red Book". The language of the symposium will be English.
